A leading provider of AUTO-ID and bar code software, TEC-IT Datenverarbeitung GmbH, is extending its products to work closely with the popular productivity suite, Microsoft Office. The goal is to create a way for bar codes to be created easily and effectively.

In the spirit of user-friendliness and self-explanatory directions, the TBarCode creation tool now available for Microsoft Office 2007 and Microsoft Office 2010 and boasts ease of use for inexperienced users. TBarCode supports both Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Users can now create bar-coded documents, mailing, lists, and tables, quickly and easily. The user interface is very similar to Microsoft’s and new users will have no problem learning the TBarCode tools. These tools do not require a great deal of training and even occasional users are able to quickly and easily create customized bar codes for a variety of document types.

The CEO of TEC-IT, Guenter Kriegl explains the inspiration behind this new technology:

“Microsoft Office is a common tool for printing labels, mailings and catalogs. TBarCode Office was developed to provide Office users a solution that simplifies bar-code printing as much as possible. The perfectly integrated bar-code add-ins for Word and Excel are the result of our work. We know that Office users have been waiting for such a tool.“

This product also supports a wide range of different types of bar codes that are in use today. More than 100 different types are able to be created, including linear bar codes, postal codes, GS1 DataBar and 2D codes. Also included are UPC codes, DataMatrix and USPS Intelligent Mail bar codes. All of these types are created with a single click.
