Epson America Inc has announced that the TM-T88V printer ranked the highest in terms of energy efficiency. Other models in its class consumer significantly more energy than the TM-T88V. This machine is a single-station thermal printer that is well suited for application in high-volume printing for the retail and teller fields. The TM-T88V offers solutions for fast and reliable receipt printing while saving up to 25% in reduced paper usage over time. As the only TM-T88V thermal printer that has qualified for Energy Star Ratings, it has been available since June, 1, 2010. Energy Star rated devices can contribute to a 10% savings in annual energy consumption for retail and industry.
The TM-T88V single-station print competed against ten other models. Among these where three Star, three Citizen, two Bixolon, one IBM and one Ithaca. According to the test results, the Epson TM-T88V consumes between 68% and 89% fewer kilowatt hours than the next best competing and worst competing models. To save in paper reduction, users of the TM-T88V are able to reduce the length of a receipt by 25% or more. These savings are created from a variety of techniques that include bar code height shortening, line space reduction, line feed reduction, and top margin reduction. All these, coupled with its energy efficiency, make the Epson TM-T88V a superior single-station thermal printer.
