Motorola Inc. has expanded the company’s available Customer Fulfillment Center (CFC) so that it may serve a vast customer population in Malaysia. This plan was made official once the president of Motorola Enterprise Mobility Solutions Business, Gene Delaney met with the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak to discuss the plan for the expansion of the accessibility of enterprise mobility products. This was a strategic move posed by Motorola to further strengthen customer relationships and extend the value that Motorola places on Asia Pacific customers.
The Motorola CFC located in Penang leads the distribution of two-way radios in Asia as well as process orders that the customers have placed for Motorola’s Professional Commercial Radio. The use of the Penang location as the central region of operation is very beneficial in the marketing and distribution of Motorola products. Penang is the sole complete design center for two-way radios in the world. Also Motorola’s powerful presence in the area for the previous 35 years also helped them facilitate the Motorola Enterprise Mobility Solutions throughout Asia Pacific. The customer’s served in Malaysia range from government officials to small enterprises so the role of Motorola in Penang as the “Center of Excellence” suits the company’s wide range of manufacturing digital two-way radios and other voice and data communications systems.
The process of implementing more customer relationships throughout Asia was made possible by Motorola selecting a key location that had a strong foundation already maintained in the area that was capable of distributing Motorola’s enterprise mobility products to reach more of the population. Penang provides the key location that extends both the ability to process and facilitate the communication devices that Motorola manufactures because it is established in the area and has the reputation of facilitating valued chain activities.
