Opticon’s OPN2002, newest to the OPN2000 scanner line, brings high-yield memory and durable portability to fast-paced businesses, per Opitcon’s December 2009 press release.

Connectivity Options
Whether using Bluetooth transmission to a host device or a cable to a USB device, the OPN2002 allows fast, real-time data transfer to increase operations efficiency. The cordless operation option grants greater reach range to scanning requirements and prevents cord entanglement that increases overall efficiency and improves time usage. When workers use the USB cable, data transmits directly into a USB device such as a thumb or stick drive for increased data management.

Hugh Memory Capacity
The OPN2002’s memory claims one of the largest capability per-device ratings in the industry. Able to hold up to 25,000 barcodes, the unit offers a wider range, longer use availability before reloading or downloading stored data than virtually any in the industry. Supplemented by the USB device storage option, businesses find their workload lightened and completed faster than ever before.

Durability
The sleek, compact design doesn’t balk at rough treatment. The OPN2002 operates at full capacity in temperatures ranging from 0 to 50 degrees Celsius (32 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit) and comfortably stores in temperatures from –20 to 60 degrees Celsius (-4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit); acceptable humidity ranges from 20 to 85 percent, all of which add up to worry-free operation in virtually any store, warehouse, or outside environment.

Drop-tested to survive a 1.5-meter (5-foot) drop onto concrete, even the clumsiest of worker finds the OPN2002 hard to break. Businesses can save countless dollars in repair or replacement costs due to accidental damage.

Power Duration
The OPN2002 scanner provides up to seven hours of operation before needing recharge, maximizing man-hour efficiency and reducing work stoppage. Able to retain data up to 72 hours, the unit assists in prevention of data loss if main systems have problems, reducing potential doubling of work effort to recapture lost data.

Summary
Opticon’s OPN2002 expands the OPN2000 series barcode scanner line for businesses that want high-capacity efficiency, reliability, and durability.
