The EBS-40 has an extremely low power consumption. The base station communicates over a 802.15.4 based protocol. Up to 2500 ESL labels can be connected to a single base station with EE-201 and default ESL settings. This can even be increased by using longer poll intervals. The two Ethernet ports enable easy daisy chaining.
